Do you know why the trees weep
When the sparrows leave them?
Their branches shudder, their leaves wither
And they walk barefoot behind them
So is my heart searching for you in your exile

The nightingale they put in a cage
Did not pay attention to the noise of boys
It chirped with indescribable beauty
Whenever its female exchanged
A lot of weeping with it behind the wall

أتدرين لماذا تبكي الأشجار عندما تغادرها العصافير؟
تهتز أغصانها وتأفل وريقاتها
وتمشي حافية خلفها
هكذا هو قلبي الباحث عنكِ في منفاك

البلبلُ الذي وَضَعوهُ في قَفَصٍ
لمْ يكترثْ لضجيجِ الصبيان
غَرَّدَ بجمالٍ لا يوصف
كلّما بادلتهُ النوح كثيراً..خلف الحائطِ أنثاه
